Behavioral Medicine

We want your pets to be good citizens and happy members of your family. Let us help you find the answers to behavioral issues. Sometimes there is an underlying physical reason for why a pet misbehaves.

Cold Laser Therapy

As your pet ages, recovers from trauma, or simply needs relief from everyday aches and pains, Class IV Cold Laser Therapy can offer relief.  Your pets will benefit from reduced inflammation and pain, have an increased range of motion, and show greater mobility earlier in the recovery process.  Veterinary medicine, chiropractors, and sports medicine (including major league sports teams) are embracing this new technology!

Dentistry and Dental Radiography

Periodontal disease is present in over 70% of adult dogs and cats, making periodic, routine dental cleanings important in order to provide optimal health and quality of life for your pet.  Unlike human dentistry, general anesthesia is necessary in order to perform a thorough cleaning on your pet's teeth.  Dental technicians use modern and safe ultrasonic scalers to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line.  Since the extent of dental disease is often not fully realized without x-rays, we use digital dental radiography to determine the extent of periodontal disease and to help evaluate the need for extractions or more advanced care.

Digital Radiography

Our digital x-ray equipment helps our doctors evaluate your pet's condition quickly and safely.  These high quality images provide us the needed answers to help with the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.  When necessary, these images can easily be shared electronically with specialists  through e-mail.

Electrocardiography (EKG)

Our state-of-the-art device enables us to record an EKG on a smart phone and send it to a cardiology specialist, allowing for quick interpretation and treatment of heart conditions.

Emergency and Critical Care

In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced doctors and staff will quickly evaluate the emergency, while providing first aid and stabilizing your pet. Once stabilized, the doctors will discuss further treatment options. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. After hours, we use the services of local, fully staffed emergency centers.

Flea, Tick, and Heartworm Prevention

Fleas and ticks can carry diseases that are not only harmful to pets, but also their human families.  Fleas can also result in allergies, which can make pets miserable. Heartworm disease can be life threatening to your pet and costly to treat, but is easy to prevent. We have a wide selection of products available to eliminate and prevent these parasites.

Fully Stocked Pharmacy

We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field to treat eye, ear, liver, kidney, heart, and endocrine conditions.  We also have medications to treat your pet's allergies, gastrointestinal problems, arthritis, skin conditions, as well as products to treat and prevent flea, tick, and heartworm problems.  Our medications are competitively priced and available today, saving you the hassle of having to drive across town or wait for online orders to come to your home.

Hospice / Euthanasia Services

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We are here to help our clients by offering emotional support and understanding when they need to make difficult, yet compassionate decisions.  Through it all, we will ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include compassionate euthanasia, and a variety of options for care of the body.

In-House Lab

We are proud to offer the convenience of an in-house laboratory to our clients and their pets.  This state-of-the-art laboratory enables us to perform needed tests within a very short period of time.  The faster we are able to diagnose your pet’s health issue, the faster we can treat it.

If your pet requires any additional testing, we have relationships with excellent independent laboratory services that are capable of accurately performing any specialized tests.

Intensive Care Unit

Your pet is part of your family and we want you to be confident that he or she is receiving the best care possible.   Our well trained staff of veterinarians and technicians work closely with pets needing more monitoring and care in our fully equipped, intensive care unit.

Microchipping

We strongly believe in microchipping as a Standard of Care for all our feline and canine patients. More than 10 million pets get lost each year, and 90% won't return home without effective identification. Getting lost is the #1 cause of pet death.  Microchipping is as quick and painless as when your pet gets a vaccination. A microchip can help to ensure your pet's protection and safety if ever lost and then found.

Nutritional Counseling

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. The life style, age, and overall health status of your pet needs to be considered when selecting a proper diet to feed him or her.  Special diets are available for pets with arthritis, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, thyroid issues, pancreatitis, urinary conditions, and heart conditions, to name just a few. Our veterinary staff is available to help you decide which diet may be best for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.

Pain Management

Pets are not small humans, and some medications which you might take for day to day pain can be deadly to a pet – so it is important you never give your dog or cat any medication without first consulting one of our doctors.

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do.  We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. We offer many options for managing pain which include conventional medications such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as well as newer pharmaceuticals, therapeutic laser treatments, and nutritional supplements.

Parasite Treatment

Although safe and effective treatment and control methods exist for most internal and external parasites, many animals continue to suffer from preventable parasitic infections.  Internal and external parasites can cause great discomfort, transmit disease to animals, as well as humans, and significantly interfere with the relationship between people and animals.  With proper testing, and the administration of preventative medication and measures, most common parasites can be controlled effectively.

Because of the impact on animal and human health, it is important that we encourage comprehensive parasite control as a priority in preventative health care.

Preventative Medicine

Helping to keep families and their pets healthy is our priority. We work with you on wellness care and how to prevent problems before they happen.  Proper nutrition, a healthy safe environment, and regular exercise is a good start, but there is so much more.

Puppy & Kitten Packages

We offer reduced price packages that include the multiple vaccine boosters, monthly exams, routine deworming, and fecal exams necessary to get your new pet off to a healthy start in life.

Senior Pet Care

As our pets age, certain diseases become more common. Just as older people may require medications to stay healthy and comfortable, our senior pets may also need special attention. Regular diagnostics, including blood work, urinalysis, and diagnostic imaging, may be necessary in order to be certain we are doing everything possible for the health and happiness of older pets.

Spay & Neuter

We know that your pet is very important to you as a companion, a friend, and a member of your family. In order to reduce the number of animals ending up in shelters or being euthanized, we encourage you to discuss spaying or neutering your pet with us. Together we can work as a team to help reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned animals.

Surgery

We have a modern operating room with state-of-the-art surgical equipment and instruments to allow our surgical team to provide the best care and outcome possible for your pet. All patients are carefully screened for safety through thorough examination and bloodwork. Anesthesia is carefully controlled and specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff; IV surgical fluids if necessary; heated surgery tables; sterile techniques; blood pressure and oxygen saturation monitoring; post-operative warming blankets, and intensive after-surgery care. We also have board certified surgeons available for consultation and specialized surgery.

Vaccinations

Immunizations are important for your pet’s health, but not all pets need the same vaccinations . Our recommendations will be based on your family and your pet’s life style as well as American Animal Hospital Association vaccination protocols.
